Actress Zelda Rubinstein, who is best known for her portrayal of the spirit talker Tangina in Steven Spielberg's 1982 film Poltergeist, has passed away. Her agent, Eric Stevens, confirmed the news that she passed away of natural causes at Barlow Respiratory Hospital in Los Angeles on January 27. She was 76 years old.

New Elm Street DVD Set!!
=======================
With the April 30, 2010 release date for the A Nightmare On Elm Street remake coming up quick, New Line is not wasting the chance to re-release the eight films in the original franchise in a new DVD box set that's arriving on April 6.

New Line hasn't packaged all of the films together as a set since they released that black-boxed special edition collection back in 1999.

Since the original box set release the films have been paired up on two sets, featuring four films per set.

There has been no official word as to any extras there may or may not be on this collection. At this time all that is known to be included are the 8 films, including Freddy vs Jason.

However, Robert Englund fans should note, that while the new box set artwork features the dark image of Freddy, it is the Freddy played by Jackie Earle Haley in the upcoming remake, and not the original Robert Englund version.

The glove on the new box set artwork has been replaced via photoshop with an original glove!

Book of Zombie
Christmas Carols!!

=======================
A few days ago I got my hands on a copy of a new book that is a must own for the zombie lover in your life this holiday, or should I say helliday season.

The book is called, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies: A Book of Zombie Christmas Carols, and it is written by Michael P. Spradlin. The book also features unbelievably gross, but fun illustrations by artist Jeff Weigel, and an introduction by New York Times Best-Selling Author Christopher Moore.

This book takes around two dozen classic Christmas carols and flips them around with a zombie twist to make them Christmas SCARE-ols, instead of carols.

Some of the carols include;
I Saw Mommy Chewing Santa Claus, We Three Spleens, Let's Feast On Merry Gentlemen, Zombie the Snowman, Zombie Claus Is Coming To Town, Rudolph, The Zombie Reindeer, and more!!

I personally read this book, and it is THE must own book for zombie lovers during the holidays!

For more info on the book go to www.zombiecarols.com

NECA's New Freddy Krueger Figure!!
=======================
Even though it's a figure, here is you best shot to date at seeing the face of Freddy Krueger from the upcoming remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Horror figure fans can rejoice in the fact that NECA Toys is creating a new Freddy Krueger figure from the upcoming remake due out in April of 2010.

There will be a burned Freddy, and a pre-burned Freddy as played by Jackie Earle Haley. Pictures of both figures can be seen at Dread Central.

NECA's Head of Product Development, Randy Falk said that NECA has re-aquired the rights to both Freddy, and Jason. He said that both of the Freddy figures will be released before the remake is released, and there are plans for a new classic Freddy figure to commemorate the original film's 25th anniversary.
